Photographers—ditch the generic holiday cards! You’re capable of so much more.

In our visual industry, your holiday card should be a true reflection of your work. A card or photo is more than just a seasonal greeting—it’s a showcase of your talent and a reminder of why your clients chose you in the first place. There are plenty of labs and printers offering flat or folded card options, making the process easier than ever. We use Candid Color Systems (Link to Candid's Cards) to print cards as well as 4x6 and 5x7 photos, and they even offer the option to leave the back printing off so you can add a unique, handwritten note. That personal touch sets your card apart and makes it memorable.

Over the years, we’ve taken it a step further by photographing iconic local spots (see below) and turning those images into frame-worthy keepsakes. These cards don’t just end up in a stack—they get displayed, talked about, and cherished long after the holiday season passes. Imagine your card being the one clients keep up on the mantel or pin to their bulletin board; that’s branding at its finest.

The clock is ticking. If you want your holiday card to make a real impact and boost your brand, now is the time to get started and stop using generic, uninspired cards. Think of your holiday card as an investment in your client relationships, a small gesture that keeps you top of mind and shows off your artistry.

Creating your holiday card is simpler than you think: Pick one of your images for the cover that really speaks to who you are. It could be a heartfelt family portrait, sports team photo, school portrait, a still life with holiday flair, a stunning sunrise or sunset, or even a close-up macro shot of a flower that showcases your attention to detail. The important part? It’s your work, showcasing your unique talent and style.

So, what’s holding you back? Now is the perfect time to decide what you’ll be sending out this December. Plan ahead, pick your best image, and make sure your holiday card stands out.

Don’t wait—if you snooze, you lose!
